A Marriage is a living Family System and like all living things, it can get infected with toxic agents that result in its death… So you must Protect Your Marriage and Your Family Unit at all costs. ——-

I’m very protective over my marriage and my family unit. My God given discernment helps me to weed out the intruders and anyone who will try and can destroy it (outsiders, other family members, influential media, etc.) so that I can nip an issue in the bud when I see that it is negatively affecting what I am trying to protect. ———————

I enjoy every moment that we spend together as a family as those are the moments that London will remember growing up and we want to instill great family values in her and part of that is practicing what we preach (leading by example). Her father wants to show her how she should be treated and loved so that she will not settle for less than God’s best for her. Although we are not perfect we do not go to bed angry at each other and we are continuing to grow in The Lord as He is the PERFECT EXAMPLE of Agape Love.💕

Black Girls Rock: Twin Dancers Are Accepted to American Ballet Theatre’s Prestigious Summer Program

Twin sisters Nia and Imani Lindsay have been accepted into the prestigious American Ballet Theatre’s (ABT) Summer Program on scholarship. The young girls have been walking since 8 months and have been dancing ever since. At 10-years old the two are trained in jazz, ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, and tap dance. They are also fluent in English, Spanish and French.

While they reside in Canada they made a trip to New York City to audition for ABT’s Summer Intensive program and found time to sit down with Cipriana of Urban Bush Babes to discuss their big news, bullying, their beautiful natural hair and why they love Misty Copeland: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ply4Rjz_UZM

Such an inspiration! I am so insanely proud of these girls.

Yesterday, the New Orleans Police Department announced that its officers will begin wearing cameras to record all of their interactions with the public. This video is an example of why that might be necessary.

The video above, which appeared on WorlstarHipHop yesterday, shows a Jeffersons Parish Sheriff’s Department officer forcing his way into a man’s home, pushing the man onto his couch, and handcuffing and arresting him, all while the man pleads “You’re scaring me” and “Why are you doing this?” The cop orders the bystander recording the interaction to “get out of here,” to which the bystander replies, “But this is my house!” At one point the man being arrested begins to panic, yelling “Please don’t shoot me!”

The Times-Picayune identifies the man who was arrested as Donrell Breaux, and says that Breaux was charged with “battery of a police officer, resisting arrest with violence, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.” Breaux says that he had a verbal dispute with a neighbor, and the officer who arrested him is a friend of that neighbor.

These sorts of videos are all too common . From sea to shining sea.

A 17-year-old Black boy from Long Island, New York, has pulled off a rare run of the Ivy League table – he has been accepted by all eight of the prestigious schools.

Kwasi Enin, a violist and aspiring doctor from Shirley, NY, is going to have to make a tough decision by May 1, when he’s going to notify one of the top eight schools in the nation that he will be part of its class of 2018.

Enin told USA Today that he had gotten the most generous aid package thus far from Princeton—but he hasn’t yet heard from Columbia, Cornell or Harvard about financial aid. Enin is interested in pursuing careers in both music and medicine.

His parents are both nurses, hailing from Ghana. They emigrated to New York in the 1980s and studied at public colleges nearby.

“My heart skipped a beat when he told me he was applying to all eight,” Nancy Winkler, a guidance counselor at William Floyd High School, where Enin attends class, told USA Today.

Winkler said she hasn’t seen anyone come close to Enin’s feat in 29 years as a counselor.

“It’s a big deal when we have students apply to one or two Ivies,” she said. “To get into one or two is huge. It was extraordinary.”

All of the Ivies take an exceedingly small percentage of applicants, ranging from Cornell at 14 percent to Harvard at just 5.9 percent.

College admissions expert Katherine Cohen, CEO and founder of IvyWise, a New York-based consulting firm, listed all the advantages Enin has in his favor: he’s a boy at a time when females comprised 57 percent of college students in degree-granting institutions last year, making boys a coveted commodity.

Enin ranks No. 11 in a class of 647 at William Floyd, a large public school on Long Island’s South Shore, putting him in the top 2 percent of his class.

With an SAT score of 2,250 out of 2,400 points, Enin is in the 99th percentile for African-American students.

Being a first-generation American from Ghana also helps him stand out, Cohen says, because “he’s not a typical African-American kid.”

Enin was moved to apply to each Ivy—in addition to three State University of New York campuses and Duke (all of which, of course, accepted him too)—because each has “their own sense of school spirit” and other qualities he liked.

Cohen told USA Today he’s “sitting in a very good place right now — I think he can negotiate the very best financial aid package he can get” at his top-choice school.

“Almost any of them would do anything for this type of candidate,” Cohen said.
